Interdisciplinary Computing Research

PIC's approach to campus-wide computing education is novel and forward-looking. PIC is working each week to discover common computing interests across disciplines, valuable new computing skills required in career areas, and work at other universities in this area.

Interdisciplinary Computing at FSU

The PIC Steering Committee (PSC) has proposed many interdisciplinary computing courses that may be offered under PIC. An investigation is underway to determine the possible demand for these courses, where these topics may already be offered within the university, and where opportunities for collaboration exist.

Computing in Careers

As PIC grows, an effort will be made to involve industry in decisions regarding courses and course content. Specifically, careers opportunities for FSU students will be studied and computer use in those careers researched.

Interdisciplinary Computing at Other Universities

PIC administration conducts continuous research on efforts from other universities that parallel PIC's vision and mission.
